Ok so from wut i understand now is php is what u use for shopping cart systems.

I use to use dreamweaver to make and edit our std site, now using zencart and opening it in dreamweaver expecting to be able to mod it, all it comes up with is lines with "PHP" icons in between, im i just an idiot or do i actually need another program to use/edit zencart...

everyone starts off a nub sadly... sry =/

The only direction I can point you in is to say:

Stop using these stupid "Comunity Supported" technologies, and move to something Good, like ASP.NET, it's much better, and much easier to use. and it works, without making you feel like a noob. ;)

I cant stand ASP or .net.

To answer your question the PHP icon in Dreamweaver occurs when code is added to a page and its format is not understood by Dreamweaver.

Best you learn PHP basics to start working on the hacking of Zencart.

When I built my last osC based shop my previous knowledge of raw PHP and HTML came in extremely handy since the layouts etc are mostly dynamic generated content.
