Post by Keigo »

ANN wrote:Sonezaki Yui is in a quandary. Her family's curry shop, Ganesha, was failing for lack of customers, and now her father has disappeared, ostensibly on a quest to learn more about curry. With his absence, the shop is sure to fail. Then she comes across a drifter, Koenji Makito, who turns out to be an old acquaintance of her father. Makito persuades Yui to keep the store open, and proves to her that his skill at making curry is worth her trust. But powerful enemies lurk, waiting for a chance to destroy Ganesha.

It's been my experience that curry and nudity do not mix well IRL.

Especially if the curry gets into those "hard to reach" places

lol...well, im rather serious actually :P
Innocent-Sin (I think it was them) seem to be like a speed scanlation group :P From certain manga iv read it seems as if they just do it to help out the eager people who really just want to read further and dont care too much about quality (I think id fall into that category for manga...not anime though :D )
They also seem to drop the projects once the main HQ scanlation groups catch up :D

How come things always seem to get translated into "Chinese" before english? It is a lot easier to translate? If so it is THAT much easier?
Or do some companies pretranslate it into Chinese and release chinese versions?

Iv noticed the same with anime...Chihiro only had a translator who translated from Chinese to English and they released LOADS of episodes before other speedsubbing groups...

Dude, Chihiro Fansubs are noobs. Why you watching their stuff? Their rated below average.

That's why they get done first, because they translate like kids.

Yes, there are official companies publishes magazine like BaoDao Shonen(TW) and Ex-am(HK), that translated manga chapters similar to Weekly Shonen Jump/Sunday and others, and they do catch up to japanese releases.

and after is translated from japanese to chinese, there are tons of people can do scan, copy, editing, translating, etc. which is pretty scary~

No, I wouldnt and dont watch their releases.
Like you said and them say/said...they're *****.
Their main obkective is just to release as quickly as possible.

I just hang around their IRC channel and talk to their translater every now and then :P

I spoke to my Tawanese friend today.
He said he would also be able to translate manga from Mandrin to English...obviously not 100% correctly..but to the general idea.

If you are starting a group let me know. I can translate from japanese to english, but it takes me an awefull lot of time, seeing that I can't read kanji to save my live. But as long as there is furigana I can survive :P Or I can just proof read it and compare it to the originaljapanese.

I think we should at least give it a go and see after a few releases how everything is going.etc

If its a scanlation group...then im not too sure what role I could take...
I could possibly do almost everything other than translating...
I might not be the best at first...but I will get better

Nuke, so you would be able to translate an anime episode?   8)

Nuke, so you would be able to translate an anime episode?
Maybe if its a series like Chi's Sweet home I may be able too. but its easier to translate when its written. Then I can easily go to a dictionary to find a word I don't know's meaning.
