I bet I'd get a lower score than you !! Although I wouldn't waste my time installing vista, then waste my cap downloading it, just to use it once and post the score

I didn't think it looked that great, actually. The graphics implementation is just inefficient - not very realistic.

The space ship nuking a whole planet was a bit unexpected, though. Got some angry people at Futuremark they do...

I see a trend here of people mentioning that you need Vista to run Vantage.

That's only half correct. You need an all-powerful DX10 card to do it.

I have the former, but no the latter. So no Vantage for me.....

Something with a much higher CPU multiplier (my CPU was bought without overclocking in mind*) and more cache.

*I recall stating I'll overclock till 2.13ghz (E6400 specs)and leave it at that. Famous last words. My CPU is now thrashed...well medium thrashing anyway.

Well get an OEM Ultimate i'll cost round 2k but it more depends on your CPU as to your knock, i got an OC'd E4400 and with vista i outperform an E8400 on XP that OC'd higher than mine.

I also benched my system with XP SP3 vs Vista no SP and Vista was about 7% faster and that was b4 i got my dominator 1066.

My full kit now is E4400 @ 3.0, 8800GT, Dom 1066 @ 1000.

I get 5.7 on my Vista rating and i had a visable speed boost from SP1, gonna upgrade to teh 64bit soon as its said to be even faster. then ill toss in an extra 2GB RAM, well once i replace my mobo so i can OC further and run my RAM at its tested spec.

+1 there, my e8400 will absolutely rape your e4400. in xp or vista.

Me too.
E4400 could never out do a E8400. Not even if it was clocked beyond the ghz of the 8400. 45nm vs. 65nm.

Hmmz my rig gets 5.9 overall on the vista experience index so with that in mind I thought it'd be interesting to see how it runs Vantage.....
