- Intel P4 800Mhz 3.0Ghz
- MSI 875P-Neo FIS2R
- MSI RX800XTPE AGP
- Hitachi 400Gb S-ATA
- 2048Mb Transcend DDR400 DC / 4x512Mb
- 1280x1024

You beat my 3DMark scores btw. My socket 478 CPU seems 2 be holding me back.

I'll play around with these benches in a while, see if the new CATALYST improves things or not.

Will let ya know.

A little update...

Since getting a 6800GT, my stock score has gone up to 57,595. I must still see what a little overclocking can do ;-)

I hit 68000 on AM3 with my 6800nu GFX score was 9700 somewhere. It helped unlocking the extra pipes and processor. Jumped from 65K only oc'ed to 68K....

65K in AM3 with a 6800 NU?! 8O

When I had a 6800 NU card, my stock score was like 52200...

Are you referring to unlocking the extra pipelines and vertex shader using RivaTuner's NVstrap driver optimisation? Or did you do a softmod?

I tried the Rivatuner method, and my benchmark scores actually went down. :?
I didn't experience any artifacts though, so I don't think my 6800 NU's extra 4 pipes were defective.

With my 6800 GT, the most I've been able to get is 62,900. What graphics driver are you using currently?

As a matter of interest, can anyone tell me what the current version of AM3 is? The one I have is 'V3.0 ret', dating back to September 2003. Surely a newer one must have been released in the last year and bit?

It was the AM3 that came out on a PCF cd, so it was couple of months back, don't know about the version number or so. Like I said, an stock I got about 55K and with OC on my CPU and GFX I got 65K, OC only on the GFX is about 61K and with the softmod and CPU OC I get about 67 - 68K....

It's a 3500+ Athlon 64 clocked at 250 x 10, mem devider set at the 333 devider which with the overclocking will sit at 416Mhz. Then I must state that I switched FSAA off, and AF off and not on application controlled. Rest is set to quality.

The A400TDH is set to 380 core and 800 mem with the softmod and the mobo is the ASUS A8V Delux..

Ah, I was wondering how you were getting such good scores.

I have a Leadtek A400GT TDH, which I've never taken beyond 400\1100. My CPU is a 3200+ Athlon 64 (NC), which I've only ever managed to OC to 2453 MHz (223x11). Any higher and my system starts getting a bit unstable... When OC'ing, I use the AGP\PCI lock on my mobo, so only the CPU & memory gets affected (memory is only running at 370 MHz @ 223 MHz FSB).

Depending on your PSU, I'm sure you could get your CPU higher..... ANd I've also locked the AGP /PCI since the softmod on oc ane the GFX does not work that well with agp too high.

My CPU score were 10400 round about, if I remember right, and the GFX was sitting at 9700 about. Can't post the score since I don't have net at home, and sitting in Swazi doesn't help.

One thing you guys should remember about single channel Newcastle and Clawhammer A64's, running on socket 754, are they give quite crappy bench scores in AQ3. The comparable dual channel socket 939 chip, actually running in dual channel mode, will easily get 5000-7000 higher with all else being identical.

Rayne: With a P4 478 Northwood, I will still kick any 754 Amd's butt....because of dual-channel. For some inspiration.....with a P4 Northwood, and 9800XT, I managed 60400 :)

With a 6800U, and 3.4EE, everything stock, I did around 73k stock, and with cpu and gfx overclocked, I have a best of around 84500 in AQ3. So, do a bit of effort, cool down the Northie, and go for 80K. That is what that system should be capable of ;)

MrBean.

He he he... Yes that's some good inspiration indeed but I think I'll attempt OC'ing when I know I have enough cash tucked away 2 replace any component I may burn. I actually removed all my case/lightning/fan mods a while ago already, playing in the dark was anoying, noisy 2.

Great advice as always MrBean. I will definately relook your posts when I OC 1 day!

Currently I'm happy even though I can improve scores, as long as my PC keeps booting I'm greatfull...

With OC'ing my 754 Athlon 64 3200+, I can't seem to raise the vcore higher than 1.75V :eh:

Before someone tells me I shouldn't be playing around with voltages, I know that small increments are the order of the day ;-)
I only tried raising the vcore because I figured the stock voltage maybe wasn't enough to get a higher, stable OC.

For some weird reason, I can't take my chip above 2.45 GHz, otherwise I get BSOD's. :x

The only thing that I can't seem to figure out is the fact that my CPU score is sitting under 10K on stock settings..... But I've seen a one score, also the 3500+ sitting at 10500 stock. Only thing it could be is that I think I might have the Newcastle (130nm chip) and his got the Winchester (90nm chip)..... But would that really make such a huge difference.... Okay at oc I'm sitting with 10900 cpu, but they are getting 11500 to sometimes 12K...

Any help will do...

I believe those extra points "they" score over you are based on what memory they use, and at which timings they run.........surely 2-2-2-5 BH5's will kick the socks of 3-4-4-8 memory, even at 50mHz lower speed.

So...what do you use for mem, and what timings do you bench at?
