Ubuntu 8.04 - Download Link Added
8O
Been following a thread on the Ubuntu Forums... been flying the entire day. Still no 8.04 download link on the main page, but there are some FTP mirrors that are showing the i386 8.04 download on it
Would prefer to download it when it hits the main page. I dont think I've ever hit F5 so many times in one day before
Will let you guys know when I start the download, and will post links when they become available

hmm... so the uct iso is still RC?, (doesn't declare itself as being RC...)..g0ldback wrote:theres no local mirror yet.
all things being equal, would probably still get it quicker elsewhere... speed from uct just dropped to 3kb/s...

Long Term Support...DAE_JA_VOO wrote:what the hell is LTS?
We seriously need a local mirror...
the LAMP will be covered until 2013, while the desktop is safe until 2011...
<edit>
essentially, even though new releases will continue well passed this one, there will be a team dedicated to maintaining this particular distro.. .not really a biggie on the desktop side, but the last LTS LAMP was 6.06, so this will be a fair jump on the server side...

LTS means long term support. So its supported for 5 or 3 years from now. Cant remember the exact time at the momentDAE_JA_VOO wrote:what the hell is LTS?

Today is a good day, I managed to download XP SP3 RTM (so my gf and family's pcs are sorted) and then 8.04 got released which means the guys at Linux Mint can get started on the latest version which means I should have a new version in about a month
