Post by doo_much »

Source

OK uber web-aholics.

Are these pics real or Photoshopped?

And if they ARE real - anyone have more info on the alleged solar oven?I've tried Google.

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

Nope it would not be fake do some research you will find that the mirrors on the ground reflect to a tower which in turns heats up some thing.

A field like that can easily be a Mile or more big all mirrors are then set for a common point as more heat is generated that way.

To put it simple the tower is the one recieving the reflection. The are fixed by can be adjusted if needed.

As for is it real.Yes it is.....

Why is this even relevant :?:

A solar furnace - well I'll be! Harnessing the sun's energy... why aren't more people doing this...
A solar furnace, as previously stated, has to be pretty big to be at all effective, is about as technologically advanced as a big convex half-dome of glass can be. They had these before Christ, for his sake!

So what if the Uzbeks have this? We are a nuclear power.

Anyway, I have it on good authority that Uzbekistani's are a very nosey peoples with a bone in their brain. They also produce inferior potassium.

Shot Richard!

You're obviously waay better at Google than I am.

@Jamin
The relevance is that us factory worker types have to save 10% power and we're being sold the idea of using solar power to run our zinc baths. Which is why this came up. Problem was that the pics are just TOO nice and that I couldn't find any other reference to the plant. Which Richard did. Saving my bacon in the process.

YA RLY, you simpleton.

We have 2 nuclear power plants - that alone should give you a clue.

We are also the only country to ever voluntarily dismantle our nuclear arsenal. Back in the bad 'ol days SA about 6 nuclear warheads statshed out in the Karroo - just in case.

I read those articles on the nuclear capabilities, very interesting stuff.

The solar furnace could be true, IF they have other mirrors that focus on the big one (which I assume they do - look at the shadows on the big mirror). The one thing that I have to say though, those Uzbekistanis need to use better paint...

Nice article there, but it still doesn't solve the reality of ORLY :?:
As the article stated, we dismantled our nuclear bombs soon before the ANC came into power, and we do not posess any nukeyoolar weapons anymore.

I didn't know we had nuclear power plants in the Cape (with the incompetence we have in SA, I sure as hell ain't returning to the Cape!!), but we still aren't a nuclear power. That would entail us posessing nuclear weapons.

To end off, I'd like to recommend you get a brain, moran :!:

Are you baiting me, or does your faggotry really know no bounds :?:

Of course we are a nuclear power. We had nukes, and we can build them again. Hell, we still have all the parts of the dismantled warheads buried in the Karroo. The infrastructure to build more is still in place, all the closed manufacturing conversion and enrichment facilities are still there and can be brought out of mothballs. I'm sure Denel would be more than happy to help out.

No, you just proved my point.

If you use primary school reading skills, you can apply the main heading to each subsection...
Therefore, "Acknowledged Nuclear Weapons Capability", "Unacknowledged Nuclear Weapons Capability", countries that are "Seeking Nuclear Weapons Capability" and probably have it already, and last but not least those countries who have "abandoned nuclear weapons capability".

Just cause South Africa is on the same website as America, doesn't make it a nuclear power. That website shows you that while South Africa was at one stage a nuclear power, it is not anymore :!:
Key word here: Abandoned
