Soz to be a noob, but is that even safe
Short periods, longer periods might cause problems like shorten CPU life and rare cases it might blow....However if a cpu has a proper burn-in 24 hours at full load and it doesn't fail it's unlikely that it will fail for short periods of time at high temps....
I ordered the Cool laboratory liquid pro on Thurs but that was stupid because now I won't get it till Monday. Oh well-I do have work to do this weekend so I cannot spend my time faffing with new thermal grease.
Dude it will be worth the wait.
I replaced the metal pad with another one because the previous one had problems with 5degrees higher temps on core 0 and 3.
Overall it worked great after some more stress testing.
With a healthly 1.5 vcore and a 3.7 oc got a 3dmark01 score of 57800.It still refuses to complete 05 and 06 at those speeds.
Like I said with the vcore on 1.5 it just hit the thermal design limit at 61 at load and 52 at idle.Previous temps(stock thermal grease) requires a desktop fan and it was at 68 idle and around 78 at load which is a great improvement.
So mabye I was too hasty......
