I didn't even speak my mind, quick to jump on your pony eh?
I... Oh dear I don't know what to say
So what do you mean by this? There is only one possible anwser either you like it or you don't there ain't no reading between the lines cr@p here!!!!!
like it because if you have 1) a very hot NB/SB then it really can cool them as well as the CPU 2) and a massive side panel fan blowing onto it with 2X12cm fans, the CFM airflow is said to be in-sane.
Nah got a small WC kit for the NB.

Just a wee bit worried it won't fit in.If it doesn't I will just move the PSU to the drive bay.

On the topic again, I used some thermal paste that I got from a friend. That stuff is seriously potent! It's not silver or grey, but white. It comes from the UK and the "operating temps" of the paste is -40 to 200 degrees celcius. it really works!

Um I think the stuff he got was this:
Arctic-cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound

Wouldn't surprise me if it was xtremely decent, AC make very good products.

Got my AS5 yeaterday, and as it was my first experience with aftermarket thermal compound I didn't know what to expect. The results seriously blew me away though:

Pre-AS5:

Full Load After 30 min - 58 degrees
Idle - 27 degrees

With AS5:

Full Load After 30 min - 45 degrees
Idle - 23 degrees

It's mad...

Well installed Collabatory metal pad to night with my Gemini II cooler damn I'm dissapointed but it migt be due to the damn cooler moving around so much when trying to install it...Ah well will let it stay awhile longer on 3.7GHZ and 1.55 vcore with no fans and see what happens however current temps are at 74 idle and 82 load running SuperPI 32mb just to keep it around the 80 mark

I ordered the Cool laboratory liquid pro on Thurs but that was stupid because now I won't get it till Monday. Oh well-I do have work to do this weekend so I cannot spend my time faffing with new thermal grease.

Edit:oh 'four letter word'! They won't have stock for the next 4 weeks. Another four letter word!

Short periods, longer periods might cause problems like shorten CPU life and rare cases it might blow....However if a cpu has a proper burn-in 24 hours at full load and it doesn't fail it's unlikely that it will fail for short periods of time at high temps....

Dude it will be worth the wait.

I replaced the metal pad with another one because the previous one had problems with 5degrees higher temps on core 0 and 3.

Overall it worked great after some more stress testing.

With a healthly 1.5 vcore and a 3.7 oc got a 3dmark01 score of 57800.It still refuses to complete 05 and 06 at those speeds.

Like I said with the vcore on 1.5 it just hit the thermal design limit at 61 at load and 52 at idle.Previous temps(stock thermal grease) requires a desktop fan and it was at 68 idle and around 78 at load which is a great improvement.

So mabye I was too hasty......

Yeah I know it's worth its salt but you know we 'havetohaveitnow!'.
The pads pissed me off because they took so much effort to melt and often move in the process so I'm getting the liquid :)

Running Right mark 4 SSE2 threads for the last half an hour at full load at 3.7 no problem so far. What I found that works is to stress it and shut down the PC let it cool complete and stress it again. It seemed to work well with the previous pad was only the two core temps I didn't like.Mostly likely because the pad wasn't completely flat.

My coolmaster NB fan is running at 38 degrees now took one of the GPU pads and cut it a bit smaller.....

Ceramique is quite good. I am actually running it now. Partially as it's much cheaper than AS5 and performs quite the same. But AC is FANTASTIC for sub zero applications.
