Wanted: Slot plate with 2x hose grommet

Post by Kenjutsu »

I am looking for a slot plate similar to this one.

Can something like this be found locally, or can someone make one and give me a quote? The tubing size is 10mm OD.

TIA

Why not make it yourself dude? It'll take no longer than 10 minutes to make.
That guy that used to mod cases. Now I take photos. True story.

Take a blanking plate, drill a 12mm hole through it, get yourself 10mm gromits from Builders, insert them and guess what, YOU ARE DONE!!! And you saved yourself +-£10 (including the shipping)

Oh bugger you mean I could have just done this instead of drilling holes into the back of my case...LOL...

Nah...I'm building the gromits directly into the case...This is going to be a TRUE WC P180!!!

I got all the goods together, and made my own :)

Not perfect by any means, but not to bad.

I have a couple of aluminum plates, and would like to try again. The problem is that I always make a mess of it. What is the proper technique for drilling aluminium?

TIA

Which type of drill bit should I use? Is HSS fine? Low speed? High Speed?

This is how mine always end up

WiK1d, I agree, but that was a blunt drilbit too and too much pressure.

Go slow with a sharp drilbit and let the dril do the work. Use a piece of wood as a backing, so you don't dril into the concrete with your brand new bit.

Brand new Bosh HSS-R drill bit, but to much pressure  I did use a piece of wood as backing. Would a Titanium bit not be better?

And you also need to center the hole. Push slowly, with a sharp drill bit. It looks almost as if you melted the metal instead of drilling it... :? 8O
