Don't trust anything you get from a NAG DVD
Or wait until the RTM release of SP3 which should be at the end of this month according to MS. Does your internets work without SP3? If it does then I'd suggest uninstalling & waiting for the RTM.
ok, more to the point, will there be less issues with XP - Vista networking and wireless networking. I know of a lot of issues where you need to load a patch on the XP mashine to get the networking sorted ..
All they've added is Network Access Protection (NAP) to take advantage of new features in Server 2008, don't know if that'll sort out the networking issues though. The rest is just updates according to MS.
It's Tax Day, and we could hardly be blamed for last-minute filing and not paying attention to the news. However, rumor has it that 4/21 is the day: XP SP3 Release Day, that is.
Today, however, Neowin was able to get the release schedule for the Release to Manufacturer (RTM) version of Windows XP SP3. According to Neowin, OEMs, Volume License customers, Windows Connect users and MSDN/TechNet subscribers will have access to SP3 on April 21. The public will have to wait until April 29 to access SP3 via Windows Update and Microsoft's Download Center.
Microsoft will not push SP3 via Automatic Updates until June 10 which should give IT managers enough time to work with the service pack should things go awry.
We'll believe it when we see it. As readers well know, many, many users still have XP running on systems, and businesses have been reluctant to upgrade as well. The sooner SP3 comes out, the better, for all concerned (except perhaps Microsoft, who still wants us all on Vista).
Soon Google will know everything...including how to divide by zero
An anonymous reader sends word that Microsoft Windows XP SP3, which had been scheduled to hit the Web today, was pulled back at the last minute. SP3 apparently broke a Microsoft application, Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System. Their solution is to set up a filter to make sure that no system running the affected software will get automatically updated; once the filter is in place, SP3 will be released to the Web. A fix for the incompatibility will follow.
My RC2 has started giving a message that the pre-release version of Remote Desktop Connection has expired. When I uninstall the RC2 my Remote Desktop Connection works again. Weird. Anyway will try the "full" version in Rayne's linky, hope it is the official full version.
