I also heard that it apparently increases performance by 30% sounds bit suspect to me? Oh wells I am gonna download it now and try it when I get home. Is this the final release or is it just a RC or the like?

My work rig is an E6750 with 2GB RAM and an 8400GS. Pretty mid-range.

I have not had any significantly noticeable speed increases.

Maybe you heard wrong, there was a company that did benchies between XP SP2 & SP3 & also vs Vista SP1 & SP2, they said that there's a 10% increase in speed for ms office applications. They did not release the benchmark results.

[edit]

The 30% increase was XP SP3 vs Vista SP1

Its part of Microsoft's policy to bloat and and stall..and when we are tiered of there gloating, then they release it... Possibly they found more bugs and they undergoing the debugging process before release...

Good things comes to those who wait... personally, I don't think MS's policy is to bloat & stall, rather to screw the customer & make more $$ out of us.

Ok.. I tried SP again, restarted and checked everything... And this time, my network and internet connections worked fine... For a day. Then, without changing anything, or without even restarting again- I let the laptop hibernate) I received a big F# you. Internet isn't working anymore. My normal network still runs fine, and all the other pc's have internet access.

So... Something in SP3 got changed somewhere and again I'm screwed. If anyone can help me, please... I'm really fed up with this.
If it helps: I got SP3 from the NAG DVD and my laptop specs are as follows:
Acer Extensa 5620G
Intel Core2 Duo T5450
2GB DDR2 667
ATi Mobility Radeon HD2400 XT
160GB HDD

Gigabit adapter: Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet
Wi-Fi: Intel(R) Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Connection

Neither of these have internet connection, but both have full working network access, I'm not capped, and all my other pc's have internet access.

Any ideas??
