Low 8800GT 3dmark06 score
Hi there guys
I'm scoring 8000 in 3dmark06 with my new Gainward Bliss 8800GT, is this ok for the cpu I'm using. How much can I expect if I upgrade my cpu to a E6850 or Q6600 for example ?

Sorry for the semi hijack...I did a 3DMark06 run...and it said I had to get my results online. But it kept giving errors when trying to go to the website. How did you guys get your scores without having to get them online???

What kind of an answer is that??
Silver, I think it was changed in the new version and the people are using the older version... That or a lite version or something...
I havent used 3dMark in too long due to my system specs, but remember reading something about it...

Uninstall and install the older version. The new version only allows online scores unfortunatelySilverBack wrote:Sorry for the semi hijack...I did a 3DMark06 run...and it said I had to get my results online. Just wait a few months and get Penryn
I'm thinking of getting a Q9450 which is the lowest of the 12mb cache quads which will be coming out.
Hoping it will cost about the same as the Q6600
What I did was to get a nice mobo and nice ram and a cheap C2D cpu and when Penryn arrives I'll try flog the C2D and get a nice 45nm Quad

I'm sure you can get an Asus P5K cheaper than thatMouba wrote:Ok, how bout this ?
E6750 - R1700
ASUS P5K - R1450
OCZ Platinum 2GB Kit - R999
And then go for a Penryn later on.
Is that E6750 a new one. Maybe keep an eye out for an E6420 2nd hand or what about going for a E2160 and overclocking...they're dirt cheap at the moment
Otherwise, thats a good upgrade over what you have now.
