7600gt oc

Post by Ron86 »

Any tips on what to clock a xfx 7600gt standard edition to. It doesn't have cooling for the memory just active cooling for the gpu. Im looking to get the highest clock speed with stability.

There really is not much to tell as some people have the same card but they wont work the same e.g one persons 8600GT could be 8800gts core that did not pass testing so some pipelines are locked and a few tweaks are done to edit the core meaning that they can supercharge there speed where as the other persons card could be designed to be the 8600GT and will not be able to oc as much.

In other word, you cant really say what it can go to or be stable at, you should just try pushing it up a bit and then running a benchmark program and if the score improves from standard then push it more until a crash or hang then start working backwards but this time run a high graphics game for about 30min and if it lasts that long then it should be fine

Just watch your temps or you could end up ocing for nothing as the hotter it gets the less stable it becomes. :?
