Greetings everyone.
quick question. I have been running my system overclocked for a year and a half without any problems. I upgraded my cooling before doing anything and all is well. I full load at 55. My windows died complaining about a corrupt file. I decided to format and reinstall. Problem now is that it refuses to be stable at my previous overclock even though it ran fine for so long. I checked dust levels and temps. Everything is fine. But when i try to get back to my previous overclock. No go. Any suggestions? P4 3.2ghz @ 3.57ghz. (usually) 2gig ddr 400, 80 gig sata, 6800 gs GLH, 450w psu, win Xp

Many things can change in a year and a half... the initial corruption could have been your first clue that your OC was coming unglued...

I would suggest you start a thread here and then give as much detail about your hardware as you can (also, if you don't have it get CPU-Z to assist)karlschulz7 wrote:how do you overclock a pc, i've tryed on mine and it won't work any ideas P4 2,4

ja i agree. . .maybe remove the heatsink, slap some Arctic on the chip and then try the OC again.thEnaileDonE wrote:Many things can change in a year and a half... the initial corruption could have been your first clue that your OC was coming unglued...

furion, just keep trying - after i had to do a cmos reset, my board ouldnt overclock the cpu for love or money - just kept plugging away at it until it accepted the change again, takes perseverance.
