CPU OC

Post by PingPong »

hey guys

Im having a little trouble overclocking my pc- this is my setup:

AMD 3200+
Nvidia 8800GT 512mb
1024mb RAM
MSI K8 4382M4 mobo

basically my mobo is pretty crap. the only option it gives me to overclock my cpu is to change the multiplier, so i tried moving it from 10X to 11X but everytime i do that it just resets straight back to 10X, it just refuses to change (and yes, i did save and exit setup) is there a specific reason it wont let me change it or did i do something wrong? Im new to cpu overclocking so I kinda need ur help

Oh, and it lets me change it down, but not up :P

Thanks

The processor is locked to 10x you can only go lower than 10x. Is there no FSB settings?

The multiplier on your CPU is locked. The only way to increase the clockspeed is to increase the bus speed.

Then you stuffed. There might be an option that enables OCing hidden away somewhere. Some mobo's are like that.

Then the only way you're going to oc that chip is by getting a better mobo.
