What Distro are you installing? And what size is the partition you're editing/resizing/etc?

Also, another vital question - Do you like sushi?

If you can, then I would suggest you create one ext3/reiser partition on that disk using the installer, break the install once (if) it completes, then start again and use the partitioner to set up the disk they way you want to. Proceed with the normal install to /.

Uncheck all of those boxes and don't migrate anything. Just enter your own login names and passwords. (personal preference of course.)

LOL dude when i saw it i was like "hey, a linux issue i can actually HELP with! MINE!!!! GIMME GIMME!!"

Yeah man, i'm sitting on a nicely configured 7.10 install. Man i am LOVING it.

I'm over the ultimate distros. They're way too bulky for my liking. They're like the Linux versions of Vista. Soo much crap that i'll never use and that can only give me problems. So, i use 7.10 and use some bandwidth to get exactly what i need.

Go and ask on the Ubuntu Forum. You'll get a reply in no time :)

What you having problems with dude?
There should be a network icon, right click on it and enable Wireless, then just select the network you wanna connect to, put in the hash key thingy and off you go. I had no problems setting up my wireless with Linux

A good place to get support for Ubuntu is http://ubuntuforums.org

Okay, but if you are not propogating the network SSID? Where would I input the details for the connection manually? Also, where will I get the network MAC address from within Linux?

Just trying to figure this out for when I install my copy of Linux that Schase is sending me :)

Sorry for hijacking, but I just had to comment. I find Ultimate to be quite light and more responsive than 6.06 LTS which I also run. It might just cos its a fresh install and my 6.06 installation is 1.5 years old. Time will tell.

I find the look of Ultimate a nice change in the Linux world. All the "crap"
that Ultimate has can easilly be removed by a shell script that would just "apt-get remove APPLICATION_NAME". Once cleaned up, its quite nice.
