Unlocking 945GM chipset on Notebook

Post by shinji-aoi »

This might be a bit senseless to ask but;

I have a Dell D520 Latitude Notebook which I use for work (and watching movies when the power goes).
As all 'serious' PC users, I like to fiddle with settings on my computer.

This wonderful little machine will not allow me to tweak settings like anistropic filtering, texture details etc.
I've updated the drivers and searched the Net but no results - all I keep finding is that Dell blocked the drivers' from being tweaked.

[Apparently Dell underclocks their Notebooks for longevity and reliability]

Does anyone know how I can gain access to these settings?

Since you are refering to AA, etc I assume you are talking about the graphics card. Well considering the graphics card is probably the onboard Intel GMA950 I think you are out of luck.
IIRC onboard graphics card are linked to the FSB speed since it is on the Northbridge.

If you are refering actually to the CPU, then there are some software utilities that allow you to overclock via software.

Hope it helps :)

Could you possibly paste some links for these "software" programs?

Thanks
