Project: Paris Hilton
I did some stuff today, alot of stuff but there aren't very many pictures - sorry.
Paris has shrunk!!! The beetch was SOOOO fat, so I put her under the knife... uh... dremel
I measured my wifes MoBo and found it very much smaller than the one I was using to test fit with.
So like I said I introduced Ms. Paris Hilton to Mr. Dremel
I also bent this piece into place after I chopped the sides.
New fitting
Awesomeness...
Then I started on the back panel. I also made some mountings for the MoBo as I don't want the stand-off's poking through the back, those are not visible
Will try to do some more tomorrow.
Cheers

Whaat??? Your wife is an android?I measured my wifes MoBo and found it very much smaller than the one I was using to test fit with

the pen is mighter than the sword, but the word is always final
Update time!!! I know its been a while since I've updated but making the back panel took a lot of time.
Anyway here is the back panel
Now like I indicated in the title "she" has been to the surgeon... I opened her skull
But that was not all. She could not see so I cut her eyes open!!!
So next I have to build the clear covers for both of those "protrusions" and then the wiring oh and some small adjustments to one panel. And of course I still have to "wash" her...
Just for those seeing the gap between the red and black perspex, I haven't screwed it down yet so its not an issue.

wow, Samaya, I've been following the pics and it's really amazing. I'm already thinking of ways I can get all my fans on the outside of my case. Just some issues regarding that btw:
1) What are your plans for airflow. It's worrying me with that narrow space between the side and the mobo. Won't a lot of heat get trapped?
2)How is the GFX card mounted or what are your plans there if it isn't?
I apologise if this has been cleared up before, I'vew mainly just checked out the pics.

There will be slots at the top for the hot air to escape. There might be an additional fan in the bottom to force air into the case but it will probably only be a 80mm fan. It is only a P4 2.8GHz Northwood CPU in there with a 6600GT so there won't be that much heat anywaySynthesis wrote: 1) What are your plans for airflow. There will be a clear cover that will go over and around the card that will have the mounting bracket in place. The CPU will also get a similar cover with its fan cover integrated.Synthesis wrote: 2)How is the GFX card mounted or what are your plans there if it isn't?

That Gfx card cover looks awesome, but I have to share pienkie's concern about the card overheating. Those passive heatsinks normally rely on airflow in the case to keep them cool...
Perhaps Dr Samaya has a plan we mere mortals are not aware of
