What to upgrade?

Heya peps,

its time to upgrade again 8O

i was wondering if i could get some advise on what should be the first step...
my current setup its as follows:

Motherboard: ASUS M2V - Motherboard Based on VIA K8T890 (Socket AM2) Chipset
CPU: Athlon 64 3800+
HDD: 160 seagate
GPU: ATI Radeon X1600Pro
Chassis: Midi Chassis, 450Watt PSU, 2x 120mm Fans
Memory: 1x 1024mb DDR II 667mhz CL5

now i was thinking of first step getting this processor:

AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ Socket AM2 64bit CPU

but i aint sure so what do you guys think?

lookin at about R3000, so thinking about that processor and maybe a extra 1024 of ram?

What about a faster gfx? Ram is good :) I'd look at getting a 79gt or something :) and a gig of ram and THEN save for a fast chip ;)

Very first thing to do is get another identical stick. That CPU is severely limited running single channel memory. A 6000+ will not work very well with memory running single channel.

Probably a better idea. At least you can make sure they're identical that way. But get value DDR2-800, and try upgrade to the 6000+ as well. What's your budget? www.pcint.co.za has twinmos 1GB sticks for R295 or Kingstons for R419 excl if your in the JHB region.

well i already have an 8800GTS sitting in my current PC, thats the only current thing in my PC... its a 3500+ with two gb of DDR400... so i need the ram if i get the new board...

Yip i think i am going, go for the new processor and GPU for the moment, cause if i run the 8800 on my current processor i might be wrong but i am sure it will bottle neck very badly :roll:
