Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
There is a video on youtube where the guys xbox slim died within 2 days. Another vid that shows the console over heated but it was due to the space between the console vent and another console.

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
To all you young men, I need some advice please, can one fit an external hard drive to a XBox? Does it require any special formatting? Can I upload movies, mp3 and so on to it?
Is it able to read folders, say an external HD that I have on my PC, can this be plugged into the XBox and would it work?
Will it work on a big HD, say 500gig?

I use a 500gig HD, but it needs to be formatted in the old FAT32 format. Mine is an old laptop hard drive chucked into an external drive enclosure.lancelot wrote:To all you young men, I need some advice please, can one fit an external hard drive to a XBox? You can watch most movie formats straight from the hard drive, play music, annoy everyone with the holiday photos, basically everything that'll work on Media Player. And you can still use it on any PC.
The one thing you can't do (well, I haven't figured out the work-around yet) is save your games straight to the hard drive.
From what I can understand, late October, early November along with the Kinect.ADT wrote:When is the New/ revamped Xbox hitting our shores, or is it already here??

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
My one major gripe with my Xbox has been the darn controller, which I'm not only struggling to get used to but of which I have now broken 2...
Which brings a device such as this to mind.
Has anyone ever used one?

The XFPS 360 is an innovative keyboard and mouse adapter for the Xbox 360 which begins an unrivalled First Person Shooter (FPS) experience to the next-generation gaming console. Not only is the XFPS 360 compatible with all standard PS/2 input devices but also modern USB keyboards and mice. But wait, there's more! The XFPS 360 even makes traditional PS2 DualShock2 controllers compatible on the Xbox 360, as well as a plethora of peripherals. This exquiste device even manages to bring auto fire functionality to the Xbox 360, now that tops off what promises to be the must have peripheral for years to come!

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
Okay, so got the new XBox and Kinect and managed to transfer all the save game files from the old machine to the new machine (with nothing more than a flash drive), except for Forza 3.... does anyone know how to transfer that one game's save file or if the data transfer kit will work, where to get one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

format the USB stick with Xbox tools (system settings) and copy them from there.
Remember you can't use a generic USB stick though, it has to be some big brand name

Had the Xbox format the stick, but didn't help. I wonder if Kingston is a big enough brand in XBox's opinion

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread
Thanks ADT, it did turn it into an XBox memory stick, but it seems to be a Forza issue more than XBox - I've seen a more than a few people also struggling on Forza's forums. But most of those answers just turn into a fight regarding pirating and copy protection, no real answers.
It seems that Forza has locked the save game profile. And even if Forza release an update to transfer the data, my old Xbox's network point got smashed by lightning - hence the big spending spree.
I'll hit the shops this weekend for a transfer kit - just hope it works.

Some saves are locked, like Dead or Alive 4, Ninja Gaiden 2, Dante's Inferno and, you guessed it, Forza 3.
The kit will work.
