Virgin's rates make it worth putting up with the s**t you experience with them, but then again you get that with Vodascum and everyone else too! The most prevalent problem is being disconnected at random times or connecting and then receiving a maximum of 240 bytes, this happens prevalently with Vodascum.
However Virgin is clever, they lure you with the idea of their data rates being so cheap, until you have to phone someone, they make you bend and then they rape you senseless! So why are they called Virgin Mobile again? I remember phoning someone for 8 minutes and it cost me R20! What a bloody ripoff! But the amount of k*k I had with Vodacom's GPRS made me accept Virgin's rates. The problem I had was I'd connect to GPRS then after about five minutes I'd get disconnected and I'd have to switch off my phone to reset it before I could go back on GPRS. Or whilst browsing with a Vodacom SIM card on a Vodafone Live branded phone my phone would just lock up and I'd have to switch it off and on again to reset.
This problem is pretty much non existent with Virgin Mobile? But hey I could be wrong, some people might actually be happy with Vodascum? If paying R2 a meg is your thing, then good luck to you?

Im very happy with virgin! They are very well priced and I have had no major problems with them! the only problem which I use to have is that their GPRS didnt always work (it didnt work for like 5 min - 2hours and sometimes more) But that problems seems to have stopped now!

Anyone know anymore about these my 500 meg packages?
Cheapest one was about R250/189 a month?
It only happend very recently when MTN changed their rate from R2 to 60c I think to compete with Virgin? Then vodacom changed it last week sometime I read the info on the back of the sunday times magazine or was it a separate booklet?

Virgin is pretty cool with their GPRS/EDGE rates at 50C/MB!! But since they're using Cell C's 1800GSM signal towers they inherit Cell C's errors and other stuf as well so it's like taking Cell C as a network

Would you still say that if they were like Vodascum that charged R2 a meg? There phone calls are fexpensive?Spicy-McHaggis wrote:Virgin FTW!
It could most likely be caused by your phone when switching between Cell-C and Vodacom transmitters?KillerByte wrote:I've been having seriuos problems trying to connect lately.

With vodacom, MTN, CELLc they make laughing stock outta u by getting u to sign a 2 yrs contract...
With Virgin Mobile you dont sign a contract for 2 yrs... u want out in 18 months u only pay the rest of ur phone and not ur contract...
as a virgin mobile salesman once told me....
"We dont F#%^@^k arround"
But then again i think mostly its mostly personal choice...
