same to your sig maxxis.
Whoa!!!

No no no, maxxis is allowed to do that. Same as my sig. You're allowed to have a BANNER with anything you want, hell, i could have a Prophecy banner if i want, but that banner may not LINK to the site. ;)

That's how i link to my site AND my forum in my sig, by text, not by banner ;)

Why did they decide to put the persons id on the right? why? makes no sense! otherwise it looks ok to me, actually am part of another forum that has already adopted it.

It's not always like that, it all depends on your theme. Look at mine (www.daejavoo.com/forum) and you'll see the IDs on the left.

And what exactly am I advertising? Read the forum rules again.

6) No advertising or self promotion. If you are a regular user you may announce your site in the forum once, there after you are only allowed to have a link in your signature (no banners). Please don’t just join to advertise on the forum, it will get deleted/locked.

I am not trying to dispute rules here, but why exactly does that rule exist? What's the difference between linking to your site in a banner and linking to your site by text?

In all honesty Cameron made the rules. I would imagine that a sig with link would be more prominent and therefor the clicks will be more.

I know I had to linked to the cad site. When Cameron imposed the amended advertising rule I changed it immediately.

The reason given by the development team is that it places more emphasis on the post content and less on the actual poster. There was quite a lot of mixed opinion on this - ask me nicely and I'll find the relevant discussion threads for you. That being said, for the styles based on the new prosilver style, changing the user info from right to left and vice versa is apparently as easy as changing a few lines of CSS code, if you're willing to get your hands dirty.

What's changed between phpBB 2 and phpBB 3, for all those who are interested.

If I were to pick a favourite new feature, it has to be the "you got beaten at posting" notification.
