I'm not a fan of 5-5-5 timings there just too loose if you can keep it at 4-4-4 then rather do it. other wise something like 5-4-4-4 would be better. just my opinion though!
There are two problems in this world, one is yours the other isn't mine.

Druggs, don't worry about high voltages.

I used to be afraid but your board is actually designed to protect you from your own stupidity.

If you up the voltage beyond the capabilities of the components the motherboard won't boot, just reset the cmos and start again.

Just saw your new post.

I would not run your chip with a voltage of so low, it will just lead to the chip being unable to cope.

give ot 1.4 at least.

Incorrect. What happens on these Asus mobo's is if you set the FSB (Just using this as example) to a too high a speed while the board hasn't got enough voltage, your computer wont start/POST and normally you'd have to reset your cmos.

With our boards, the pc just resets itself to stock speeds and then you can carry on overclocking from there :P

Yeah it occasionally happens where I have to reset the cmos (I have only done this literally 4 times since having this computer). The rest of the time, the automatic reset does the job! :P

Yip, Running 24/7 at 3.8Ghz with just the stock cooling and a reduced voltage (1.375 about)

Just waiting to get my new water pump and then my water cooling will be back online (old pump packed up) and then I can push it hopefully over 4Ghz!

Who was that to? Me?

if so, look @ his OCed specs. Thats pretty high to run 24/7 and its not really necessary, but whatever :P

It is very necessary. The thing is damn slow if I dont overclock it and also the fancy RAM I got is useless at the standard FSB speed!

So overclock is a must!

Well I just recently upgraded my motherboard from a 955x to 975x

955x temps at 3.8Ghz used to be around 78 degree @ load and about 55 degrees @ idle

975x temps at 3.8Ghz are now 55 degrees @ load and about 30 degrees @ idle.

The new board has an eight phase power supply and better power management but I never thought it could drop the temperatures that much. also I dropped the voltage from 1.4v to 1.335v! I have felt the heatsink and it's not hot so I think are are about right.

This is with a stock cooler, Still waiting to replace my water pump and then it will be water cooled.
