At my max stable overclock I did a few months ago I got 42 seconds on 1Mb.

Normally I get about 46 seconds without major overclockng.

Just redone it using AMD 2500 Barton and 1 Gb DDR 400 - 1 minute 3 secs

Thanks goku.

Ya it's doing well, the best I managed before today was 41seconds. But I wanted to have one last try before I posted the RAM to its new owner and I managed 38seconds without too much trouble :)

I can only manage 41 secs :(

Even though I have a GB of DDR400 RAM, and a 3200+ Newcastle Athlon64, my score seems a bit high.

I tried a little overclocking, and it appears that my CPU doesn't like to go much more than 250-300 MHz above stock speed. That's one thing I miss about my P4 2.8C, being able to OC by 400+ MHz without a sweat.

I tried my Athlon64 at 340 MHz above stock, with the VCore upped to 1.725 to support the extra MHz, but low and behold, my CPU then idles at 49 (whereas normal temp is 38 or so). Super PI doesn't even run (I just end up with all sorts of strange errors.)

Oh well, I suppose a 350+ Mhz OC on an Athlon64 Newcastle would be like a 600-700 MHz OC on a P4 (ie. without some sort of serious cooling, your chip tends to get a bit unhappy with life...)

If only Sybaritic would get stock of Thermalright XP-90's!

I don't think it matters how much RAM you have with Super Pi. People have run benchmarks and achieved very low Super Pi scores with just 256Mb of RAM.

The most I managed to overclock my PC was about 350mhz more than stock, and got a 38second Super Pi with only DDR333 RAM.

Claw Hammer core :)

Once I got my Thermaltake Silent Tower in about 2 weeks I plan on upping that score a lot, and a new motherboard could help too :)

Yes that is correct. It is all about getting your CPU and RAM running as fast as possible (preferably at lowest timings possible). More RAM does nothing.
