Post by DAE_JA_VOO »

Am i the only one that's noticing this? There's a Stronhold 2 demo on this month's DVD. Stronghold 2 came out in 2005. Most people have bought and already sold that game again by now. Why is there a demo on the disc?!

Of course we all noticed, it's just not surprising enough to warrant a new thread!

I just think it's silly to put a demo from a game that was released 2 years ago on SA's best PC related mag.

Could just be that PCF loses the plot so now and then.

The demo situation being a prime example

I included it because the demo was released, believe it or not there are a lot of people who had/have never heard of the game. Personally I hate the game, but there are others out there that actually might enjoy it.

Hmm, I dont think its a good idea to put an old game on the cover DVD. You could of maybe put other stuff in its place rather? :P

Oddly, I actually had never tried the game (it got terrible reviews), despite being a huge fan of the original. So the demo was welcome in some way (it only lasted 5-6 minutes before I uninstalled it - the reviews were right).

Although I do normally have a problem with the inclusion of late demos.

For example, when can we expect the C&C demo? It was released the other day, but I'm guessing April's disc has already been finalized, so we can only expect it end of April - not good enough in my opinion.

I've never heard of that game before, but it dosen't seem too bad.

They should put the latest C&C demo soon, I've got it and it's sooo cool!

Probably for the same reason why FlatOut 2 was on last months DVD. That game was released September last year.

Cameron mentioned the other day that it will definitly be on the April disc. It was just a tad too late for the March DVD. :)

Yeah, I had actually just finished off the DVD when I saw that the C&C demo got released, I made a plan and got an extension so that it will feature on the April DVD.

As far as demos go, I don't have any control on when demos are released or so on. I simply choose what demos will be included on the DVD, if I believe that the majority of the readers will have an interest in a particular demo I included it. That’s what I did, some of you might say "but the game is old" but there are more readers out there that will respond differently.
