Well, I know Toshiba laptops are pretty solid, but don't know enough about the LCDs... if you really need the DVI, then I guess that's the better choice?
Hi all,
Anyone using an IPS monitor? If so what brand/model and how would they rate it?
I'm looking at getting a 24-27" IPS monitor so that I can get accurate colour on photos. My current Samsung P2450H is nice, but what you see on the screen and what comes out the printer (either at the photo stores or from my printer) are two different things entirely.
Have been looking at the Dell 24" and 27" Ultrasharps...
Anyone got any experience with them?
There are 10 types of people in this world.
Those who understand binary and those who do not.
+1, they just seem to be that slight bit better than the competition and last well forever. They are also the best looking and don't really date, I have a 14 year old syncMaster 500s and if you did not know any better you would say it was made in about 2004(and not 1998) when CRT died off .
Yea, I would be a bit lost without Samsung but Asus are are next best thing.
I would not touch the following:
Fujitsu Siemens, absolute trash with limited features.
LG, features and tech are far behind
Benq, picture quality is rubbish
Philips, all their products are rubbish and don't last
Mercer/ sahara, they are the equivalent of dog turd
I quite happy with my LG LED.
Movies and games are oh so good looking.
I am however, struggling with cleartype and some fonts. Not a big problem, but I feel it can be displayed a bit better.

Maybe PC monitors but certainly not the LG LCD TV's I've had experience with. I recently upgraded my 32" Samsung to a 42" LG 1080p and couldn't be happier with it.

Well maybe it is just me then, we had our Philips VCR repaired 6 times in the space of 4 years , and the image quality of their monitors is no where near that of a Samsung, Sony....
In fact of the larger LED screens I actually believe LG to be the best nowadays. Here was a good comparison of recent sets... 2011 LCD TV Product Comparisons
Never had any experience with Philips, but I know I'll never touch a Telefunken LCD after seeing a friends, and many a dead pixel on it...
