I agree, but the 42" Mercer panel for instance goes for just less than R5000...Mystical_Titan wrote:Three words: Samsung. Is. King.

From what I can tell, you get slightly better image quality with HDMI in terms of how vibrant the colours are.

Re: The 22" (and larger) LCD Thread
Hey guys,
I bought the Feb edition of PC format and was a little shocked
I was reading on the monitors and I just got mine it is the Samsung PX2370
The price was one of the reasons for the low rating but my Q is where on earth did they get a price of R3500?????
I paid R2500 and that's the average price here in CT . I mean even our most expensive shop sells it for R2800
But how they get the price so high it made me so depreso I wonder what the score would've been if it was R2500
any thoughts?

Random thread jack- If it's discussed in here somewhere, please point me to it (I'm not reading back the 99 pages)
Anycase, On to my question. HD projectors. Good idea? Bad idea? How do they stack up against HD tv? What is the quality like? Also, any info on the canvas to use with the projector would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: The 22" (and larger) LCD Thread
Why don't you drop a mail to PCF and ask them? I do find it strange that the price was so high, as LCDs are getting cheap these days.
Re: The 22" (and larger) LCD Thread
I need some help please, can anyone tell me where i can find a Samsung BX2350/BX2450? Rebeltech dont have any stock and they dont get any response from the suppliers.
I want a LED with 2ms response and 1080p (HDMI input). The BX2350/2450 hits the perfect spot!

I really want to get a 27" Apple Cinema Display, but at R9K it's pretty expensive. Are there any other design grade LED's of the same size and performance for cheaper? 2560x1440 resolution.

Re: The 22" (and larger) LCD Thread
To be honest that 27" IPS panel for R9k is pretty much excellent value. IPS panels are amazing and if you want accurate colour reproduction and decent viewing angles then you can't go wrong with that panel.ryanrich wrote:I really want to get a 27" Apple Cinema Display, but at R9K it's pretty expensive. What I type has nothing to do with the people that employ me.
Re: The 22" (and larger) LCD Thread
Yeah that's the thing, I can't find any other IPS panels for cheaper so that may just be the one to go for. I agree, they're absolutely amazing, and once you get used to it, it's hard going back to a normal LCD or LED panel.

Re: The 22" (and larger) LCD Thread
I'm considering going from my P2770H to a BX2450. Better picture quality and easier to cart around for LANs. Will have to get used to the smaller size though...

Right now, probably the BX2450... or the XL2370, but I think that's been replaced by the BX2350...
