case before
and after
HDD enclosure before
and after
HDD enclosure installed
psu before
my noteworthy assistant
paintwork done
and psu reinstalled
I reckon so far so good
What is the name of that stuff that one puts around the edges of newly cut holes?

if you go to any motor spares place or whatever, they should be able to give you some, they use it in/on cars
Eureka! Thanks, man!
Yep, thanks for the tip, dudeHman wrote:See, now it looks like a more interesting thread. Good paintwork btw.
DarkRanger wrote:Dude, the case looks great. Just a few questions/suggestions:
1. That silverish part in the 'psu reinstalled' pic, are you going to leave it like that or spray that black aswell?
2. Why don't you get dust filters for your fans... place them outside over the fans.
Looking good. Keep it up!!
1. I'd like to make it black...but then what are my lights going to reflect off of, as I would not really like to have the primary lighting to be very visible, when one looks at the side panel  maybe a mirror would do the trick...a mirror thats it
2.I'm definately going to install a filter, only one at the main intake...
Thanks guys. I needed some insparation :bigups:

Great work so far. Like the assistant….gotta get me one of those I Love the web and I don’t think it is necessary to post pictures on to the thread…I mean all you have to do is click on your link, it is not that difficult... push the button...come on you guys can do it....
What do you intend doing to the power supply cables?
You can get the "hole trim" from a place called RPM, they are in Maitland. 021 593 2110 they call it U channel +-R6.68 per meter.

I was going to use shower hose, but nooo .... now I need to go and make things difficult for myself Anyone have a pipe cutter and maybe something to bend the pipe with?
See, when I bend the pipe, it falls flat on the curve...so I need something to support the interior...
Maybe I should just go past a motorspares place and see what they got
I'm gonna get that hole trim on Monday(hopefully), maybe they'll have the piping that I'm looking for, too

I am totally miff now! I opened my case up to continue modding this weekend, and lo and behold, the flippin psu, that I spent so much effort on, has decided to shed its beautiful dark skin...leaving dry flakes of paint as remnants.
So f this! I'm gonna buy a propper psu.
Who woulda thought modding could be such a pain in the backside?
I should admit, before the ragging starts, that I didn't read doob's "how to"
before I did the work...dammit!
So...such is life.

Don’t be so despondent ….as you quite rightfully quoted, the obstacle IS the path. So learn and move on.
You don’t have to buy a new psu, that is taking the easy way out. A little bit of fine sand paper elbow grease and some primer should do the trick. Would suggest using heat resistant paint on the psu.

I know exactly how you feel dude! Dont let it put you down though. I think every mod has its ups and downs, I know mine did with my hardware issue which Im still waiting to get back btw! Your mod is looking awesome, it should never be rushed. I have a feeling mine might just go on forever!
Maybe give Do0bs' The Perfect Spray Job a look. Take your time painting. If you keep modding like you are at the moment your mod is gonna look insanely sick! Just keep going and stay positive!
If you looking to do some cable sleeving give my guide a look....

Well, it is like a plastic tube, which is open all the way on one side, effectively creating a u shape if you had to view it on its end.
This then fits over the edge of cut metal, rounding it off and protecting anything (Like fingers) from being cut or scraped.

Here is an update guys.
Unfortunately it does not include el wire or anything mentioned in the previous post...
I am in the middle of redoing the psu casing, here is the psu with all paint removed...
and primer applied to all the bits, sorry the pic is sideways
There is a plan with the psu wires, so a bit of prepping went into that
I also installed a pair of 120mm fans. I can't wait to power them up
At the moment, I am working on the panel where the lights are going to be installed, so busy is an understatement but I'll keep you posted.
