FTP Problems

Post by Samaya »

I am trying to setup a ftp site. I managed to get it working on my home lan but will not work over the inet. I don´t know if my dsl modem has anything to do with it because I read somewhere that I need to enable some stuff?. I have installed the Internet information service software in windows xp (´cause thats what I´m using) and it created inetpub directory on C:. In there is ftproot directory where I copy the files I want to share with other users. When trying to connect I get a error message saying that I could not be authenticated or the page could not be found. Please help its getting annoying

if you only want to setup a straight up ftp site why not use a program like GuildFTP instead of the troublesome IIS. but what really matters me is how you tried to access you site in the net?
