Worm called Big Yellow hits via antivirus program

Post by doo_much »

Source

The virus enters machines through a security hole in the remote management interface of versions of Symantec AntiVirus and Symantec Client Security to take complete control of the computer.

Is nothing sacred? 8O

Edit

There's no mention of this on Symantec's website??

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

Why do you guys reckon Norton is so cr@p? I use it atm, and so far havn't had any issues with it.

Me too!

I think AVG is crap! - its irritating too!

Ive used Nortons Corporate Edition for years now, havent had any problems at all! Doesnt slow my PC down like AVG too, and it doesnt bother u about every small thing as well!

I'm using Norton AV 2005 with all the latest updates installed - I don't have any resource hogging problems that most people complain about with Nortons. The whole package, System Works, can be a bit annoying and slows down my pc noticably, that's why I only use the AV.
