Texture animation - Gradual disintegration

Post by OnlyOneKenobi »

Been curious about this for a while now, when animating a creature \ object in 3Dsmax - how would I go about creating an effect that makes the object gradually disintegrate, (as an example think of when you kill demons in Doom 3) - and I don't mean just fade from solid to transparent and then just disappear, it needs to be like a creeping effect that envelopes the object as it disappears piece by piece...

Any tips would be welcome... :!:

Jeepers, just realised how simple it really is - I just have to create an animated opacity map...

Still open for other suggestions too :P
