DS4 Sata problems

Post by Nerevar »

Just got my new pc, e6600, 8800gts, 2g ddr 2 800 and the Gigabyte DS4 motherboard.

My problem is, I have 5 Sata HD's

3x160GB Sata
1x120GB Sata II
1x250GB Sata II

I'v tried everything I can think of, but windowns wont detect the hd's. They show on the post, but windows doesnt detect them even after I installed a raid driver.

Any ideas?

Seems all I had to do is get the new bios version :)

but I have a new question,

I have 2x160gb in Raid0
how do I set it up so the new pc picks up the raid?

atm it only shows the drives but I cant access them.

I only setup raid once. This is what i done.

1.Enabled raid in bios
2.Configured the raid on boot up.
3.Installed Win Xp and 2 minutes into the setup you have to press some button (can't remember) , then you configure the raid by inserting the raid stiffy disk and then comtinue installing windows.
4. Completed the installation as normal and done.

I know how to make a raid, but I kinda want the data thats on it.

Is there a way to make a new raid and keep the data, or do I have to format

Try this software.
R-Studio unformat tool can analyze and unerase data from software RAIDs and volume or stripe sets. R-Studio detects and processes hardware RAIDs and volume or stripe sets like regular drives/volumes.

RAID doesnt automatically mean RAID0, nVidia even provides RAID1, RAID1+0 and the best, RAID5. In fact, RAID0 isn't even a RAID level technically.
