CrazyWeekendPhotos.co.za

Post by KillerByte »

I am very please to announce that CrazyWeekendPhotos is now a registered domain and will hopefully be up and running by the end of todya.

Its in competition with thunda and blueworld but instead of sending out photographers, people email us the pics and we upload them. I have a nice account with a friend who has given me 5gigts of space and unlimited traffic for free.

Please check it out. It is still an infant site and as the number of users grow and the number of people with ADSL increase then I will upload more intensive content to fully utilise the bandwidth of ADSL, thereby allowing the users an enjoyable experience.

"cause if it ain't crazy, it ain't fun!"

sorry about the link. My password and username aren't working. Working with ISP to resolve this then I will use Publisher to publish direct to web

You made a spelling mistake in the link - you've got two 'P's instead of one.

ok, this is weird.

Let me confess a bit of noobness (oh I'm going to get pawned for this)

In the past I have use web based upload systems, nice pretty explorer sytems. so the whole ftp thing is a bit new to me.

What do I have to do to get my index.htm file to work?

Note to self change all .htm files to .html ther wise they don't work.

OK give the link a go.

Your host will tell you where you should host the file at. Its usually in the root dir or sometimes 1 level in. Download filezilla and read your host's documentation or help files.

We wont pawn you for asking questions. We pawn you if you say things like "get a girlfriend" in one thread and asking "which is best for free online dating" in another. :D

don't access it yet, I've got to go now but I'm going to let filezilla load up all the files. it should bedone in a few minutes.

Sorry about the quality on some of the pics, forgot to drop them in photoshop.

PS, take a look at the tall girl, one of my closest female friends.

PS she's a model and I might convince her to be the celeb of the site and let me upload some of her bikini shots.

Your links on the homepage are wrong, they reference a directory "index_files" If I strip this from the url it works, no content but it works.

Not all the images on the front page work.

You might also want to rename your pages to something other than numbers, you'll find it easier to maintain.

What office app did you use to create the site, the code is bloated with m$ junk. I remember having to fix code like it for a client, if you leave it like this other browsers won't work properly.

Try find a different WYSIWYG.

Just some advice.

Wow, v1c is right, the source is quite a mess. You'd do well to learn HTML (it's easy) and write it in a program like Quanta Plus or Notepad in my opinion :D

what is a very efficient and powerful web design program.

How can I speed up my webpage, I want to make it efficient. Please have a look at the source and then tell me which tags I can remove to speed things up.

site is fully uploaded except for the .jpg's

Going homw just now and then resizing and droping quality to accomodate. 3meg files are just too big to upload and view.

Firstly you will need to improve a lot on the design of the site.

Black is fine but that orange and red is just a big bad no no.

Please PM if you need help on this. This site has a lot of potential but lacks the needed technical skill to make it function 100%.

CrazyWeekendPhotos Formally Welcomes Maxxis to the Team

Post by KillerByte »

Thats right guys!

Maxxis, otherwise known as Johan is now a formal member of the team.

He has great skills, check out his link, he possess the skills and knowledge that I do not. If I am to see this website grow then I need to realise that I am limited, in the world of HTML, I am a mere mortal while maxxis is a god.
