Yes. I have the N73 ME. When I try to retrieve the ID's it says that there's none available, but my friend told me it works on his SE W850i.

but data bundles are nice and cheap now, and are month to month, and u can order from as little as 20 meg for R28/ 512meg for R189 etc

unfortunately its only for contract.....
I would be very careful surfing on ur phone, u gonna end up chowing all ur airtime. get a contract (at least u can get a new phone. that e398 is not that great ) get a data bundle. IMO
Rubbish. Vodacom data bundles have been available for prepaid customers for over a month already - and they start off at R189 for 512Mb. Data does not carry over the 30 day period for which the bundle is active though.

8 GB for mobiles

Post by jee »

Not so much Q & A but a bit of news - about the new Samsung 8 GB microSD memory card for mobiles.

"Integrity" and "integer" both contain a Latin root meaning "whole; complete." The root sense, then, is that people may be said to be acting with integrity when their beliefs, words, and actions have a sense of unity or wholeness.

Hey there

Can anyone help me with a problem i have with my nokia 6280.

I have had the phone for several months now but recently it stopped charging. The charger does work on a friends phone so its not the charger. I took it to Vodacom and they said there was liquid in the phone that had 'may' have corroded something so nothing in the phone should work. However until it ran completly out of battery everything work. Anyway Vodacom refuse to work on the phone so i don't know what to do. At first i could wiggle the charger in the phone and it would charge but it doesn't work anymore.

Anyone have any suggestions? Such as is there anything i could do to make the phone's connection better or if there is even a charger for the nokia 6280 which needs to be done externally (i.e. battery itself charged outside phone) Thanks

im sure you would be able to purchase a desktop charger somewhere, it basically is used to charge a spare battery while your using one in your phone.

what could have happened is when they say liquid then the charging block could have been corroded, it can be repaired but they wont because there is no guarantee it will work at all or for long as corrosion spreads...i hate to say this to you, but because they opened your phone up it might not work again, they obviously exposed the phone now to air, and the corrosion will start to spread further on the board, seeing that vodacom wont fix it, you can take it to a private company to try and fix, but first try and get a external charger that would be the cheapest...or a new phone..
when in doubt, paddle out... ;)

mmm that sucks. They didn't actually open it up they just look at the bottom of the phone and said it was corroded. The thing that sucks is the phone works perfectly but no charging. Any company you would suggest that could repair the phone??

oh i see then they could actually see the green corrosion on the pins. thats good tho cause then that means the phone wouldnt be damaged inside from opening it up, then a desktop charger could be the cheapest option. im not sure about your area, but a good place in PE that specialises in Nokia phones is a place called "online cellular", they have taken Nokia over in PE aswell as a repair centre. perhaps you could find out if there is a Nokia branch in your area, as in the official nokia agents or repair centre and ask them for a quote or if they can repair that damage.
when in doubt, paddle out... ;)

Yeah thanks I found nokia (at Vodaworld) today and they said they said they would look and see if they can get a external battery charger, about R300 but i guess its better than replacing a R1000+ cellphone
