help
i need help with my printer ,xp just doesnt pick it up. i've got a Hp 610c desktop printer. the problem is it isnt being picked up by xp. if you need any more info just post what you need. thanx

Try connecting the printer cable to the computer, also make sure it's plugged into the wall and the power is turned on!

I also got this printer at work try a diffrent printer cable they seem to be very fusy!

i have plug the cable into the wall and the computer and i have the driver cd with. the only problem is that the drivers are for windows 98 and not xp, but thats not the point because i have used it on my machine before but when i was run xp home but i just upgraded to xp prof. and i did just install a enthernet card.... could that be the problem?

The reason that the driver CD doesn`t come with WinXP drivers is `cause XP has the drivers itself in its driver database.
XP should auto detect it.
-Check cable
-Check power cable and plug switch
-Check power switch on printer
-Test on another PC.
If after all these, no response is present.
Buy new printer

Go to Control Panel - Add New Hardware - see if XP detects that your printer connected. If nothing try on another PC. XP will definitely detect that printer, it's not that old!
