PostgresQL and PHP

Anyone know how to set up PostgresQL so I can use it with PHP ? I got postgresQL installed no problem on Slackware, just need to get it working with PHP. What do I need to do to get it to work ?

did you compile postgres with php support and php with postgres?
Tex was taken so Default it is....
