With all the new features of the site ( Thanks Cammy! ) I could go back and see what my very first post was about... quite amusing, it was about the requirements of Doom 3! Brings back some memories! :p
I don´t think Doom 3 is going to be the PC killer everyone thinks it will be... Everyone thought UT2003 and U2 would need 2ghz processors and 1gig RAM too, and yet they run well on lower end PC´s with enough memory and a half decent video card. I think Doom 3 will run fine on a 1Ghz Pentium Celeron Athlon Duron with 256Mb and a Geforce 2MX minimum.
Recently it was revealed that the official minimum specs for Doom 3 = 1Ghz CPU, Tnt 2 Graphics, 256 Mb Ram... I wasn't far off! :P

i also thought that Vice city was a bit short to finish but on the plus side it has loads and loads of replay value well rather make a short good game than a long boring one i say. cheers

Howzit all,

Sorry to bump this ancient thread, but I thought the timing is quite appropriate.

Tomorrow I will have been here for 1 year. Plus I've just passed the 500 post count.

So, why don't we post a snippet of, or link to, our first post on the site as well as what happened in the "early days."

My first post was explaining to somebody how to add an icon to your desktop in Linux.

Nothing out of the ordinary there. But soon I started getting up people's noses. Thereafter I engaged in some memorable flame wars esp. with jee. I didn't like her much back then. :oops:

Now its all good, ofcourse. We grow out of such things.

So, who's next?

P.S. Speaking of jee, you're close to 10000 posts! Or will the world end, or site crash when you reach 9999 posts. Haha. :P

When I first joined, I introduced myself in the welcomes thread, and we had fun ripping Neon off.
Then my first thread was to complain about avatar and sig sizes... :lol:
Then my second thread got spammed by jee and others, and jee then taught me how warm this PCF community is and that people joke with each other here.... I thought she was flaming me the whole time! :lol: Everybody stood up for her and explained to me she wasn't though :!:
Was used to nazi-mod controlled forums...

lol, i did indeed. And to be totally honest, if i were in situations like that again, i'll do the same thing. But i've grown up alot over the last few months and have learned alot about talking to people.
