What's "on probation?"

I've seen them on some members, where their avatars used to be like shlebibs etc.

Have they done something uber-wrong?

it was me defending basipooh when him and jee were having a disagreement in the i hate(some) vegetarians thread, it got insulting. But its over now so lets move on.

Probation is like when you get a job and they put you on 2 year probation, they want to see how well you can perform in you job and to see if you can handle it however if not, they can fire you anytime or sak you however you want to put it.

Thats probation.

I am on 2 year probation when I join the British Police.
