Calling All Modders

Post by nuf »

Hey there
<BR>There are so many that want to start something with case modding. Individually the chances of making a success of it are really slight with all the pre-modded cases coming out from the manufactures. I would love to be part of a company like Alienware where they manufacture their own custom cases and sell gaming systems. I want to find out if anyone out there (around Gauteng), who would like to get into modding, would think about joining up to start a company. For instance, I really enjoy the lighting side of the mods, but not the window cutting etc. If we could get a couple of people in the different sides of modding, we could get custom cases going pretty well. As we’d start with no client base or potential buyers, we could get it going part time, and make some extra pocket money. Maybe if we get it going really good we could start exporting or something. Anyway, this is just a thought of mine…….anyone interested ????

yea, definitely. There´s lots of stuff we have to discuss before we get going. But like I said, there´s more chance of making a success if there´s a couple of people in on it.

Alienware?

Post by LordRage »

Forgive me if i am wrong but Alienware make there own cases (dont they), I didnt know that they modded existing ones??

If I am wrong then sorry and please correct me!

The chances of everybody starting their own is slim, I would love to but I know the work that goes into modding a case and I dont reckon I could do that all the time!!

yea, alienware makes their own cases....thats what I want to do. I'll settle for modding existing ones for the time being, but wouldn't it be cool designing your own KICK bottom cases. I want to get some guys in the plastic moulding industry to make covers and stuff for existing cases.....it's a start

Make your own cases, WOW that will be cool, but also expensive I would think, have you approached anybody who does Plastic moulding?

not yet, that's why I was trying to find some other modders who would go in with me (they might have known someone on the inside). I always thought the front of cases where crap. The sides you put the windows on etc. The front has very little you can do with it. I want to get a mould for a great front. It would be a bit expensive, but if it's excellent, people would probably buy.

Anyway, I'll keep you updated if I get anything in the running
