I've been playing on RedHotPawn for just over 2 years now.
@Y0da, what's the difference? At RHP you also have ratings, tournaments, etc. It's basically real time, just as much as it is with WCN. and with RHP if you're slow, you can play a single game for weeks.
@Android, why is GameKnot better? What are the pros and cons?

I hate slow games. I want to be able to kick butt in real time. Oh the joy. The adrenaline. The thrill of cornering you opponent. *Sigh* I love this game.Kronos wrote:I've been playing on RedHotPawn for just over 2 years now.

Just when I got the hang of life they changed the rules.
mmm. Y0da, you remind me of a work mate here.
What you're talking about is Blitz Chess. You play a really fast game and hardly have time to think.
The same thing with my work mate. We play chess some times, and he's always in a hurry, and then usually wins because he tries to pressure me all the time: "come on, don't be so slow move, we don't have so much time, I'm getting bored... yada yada yada"
But then, when we play a normal game, and get a chance to think, and plan I whip him TOTALLY.

Hmm...20 - 30 minutes a game hardly qualifies as blitz chess. The guys that are really good plays 2 minute matches.Kronos wrote:mmm. Y0da, you remind me of a work mate here.

That's exactly my problem with it. Chess wasn't intended to be an "all guns blazing, wild west" game, but a game of strategy and tactics. Like real War.Y0da wrote:In a 2 min game your strategy is very different because the aim of the game changes significantly. Instead of playing for checkmate it you are playing for pieces. Whoever takes the most (in value) wins.
