Suse 9.2 not working after online update

Post by Mothman »

Hope someone can help me on this one.
This afternoon I updated Suse for the first time after installing it. It installed about 65 updates and after restarting my pc, linux only boots into its command prompt. I still get the option from the grub loader to boot into safe-mode or into normal KDE, but now matter which one I choose it ends up in command prompt. I log into my root account but I don't know were to go from this. I not very familiar with Linux commands but I suppose if you type KDE it should take you to it, but I only get a few lines of errors that says:

xset: unable to open display
& cannot load x server!

Is this perhaps the wrong command to use or might there be something else wrong?

Run SAX2 at the command line, and set your display and gfx card again.
