HBO Specials

Post by neon_chameleon »

I don't know if you guys and girls have been watching them. These HBO comedy specials are broadcast on MNET about usually about 22.10 on Monday nights.

Think there's about 7 of them, so far as been :

1. Ellen Degeres (sp?)
2. Lewis Black
3. Tracy Ulman
4. Chris Rock

Lewis Black was awesome, great comedian for those who don't know who he is.

Chris Rock will be on this Monday, I suggest for people you enjoy comedy check it out. Be warned the Lewis Black show did carry a 16 age restriction for language so those of easily offended or less than 16 years of age, you have been told. Chris Rock is one of my favourite comedians, who can forget the movie classics, Bad Company, Head of State, Pootie Tang.

Yeah I didn't enjoy the Tracy Ulman one either, but I did enjoy all the others.

Oh btw, people I was wrong about Chris Rock being on then, it's on tonight at 10pm (06 June 2005)!

Holla!

In her 2nd special, didn't you see the part where she was talking about the microwave. That was hilarious.

Chris Rock 0wned, last night. He was getting a little obscene in his language towards the end of his appearance, but he's still one of the world best comedians.

Jimmy Fallon is suppose to be present the MMA's (Movie Music Awards) on Thursday (should be shown on MTV on Friday night) for the those of you interested in comedy, judging from the replies, it doesn't sound like many are... hmmm...

Chris Rocks live acts are the best standup I have seen since Eddie Murphy's RAW and Delerious.
Have you guys ever seen any of Dave Chappel's live stuff?
It's also really good.

Dave Chappelle rocks! Have you seen his Lil' Jon impression, that is probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen, and I watch a lot of comedy programmes.

Dave Chappelle was actually voted America's best comedian of 2004. He's suppose to be missing at the moment, being somewhere actually here in South Africa on holiday to take a break from performing the Dave Chappelle Show in the states. He's been offered something like $30 million a season for season 4 and 5 for his show.

Neither did I.
I changed the channel after 20 minutes of her blabbering.
Not funny at all.

You get those people who are only funny when other people write stuff for them to say....

Bottom Line: She sucked

I'm pretty sure she writes her own material.

To have your own HBO special, you do have to be kinda good. Wouldn't say she's one of the top 10 comedians though.

In regard to all the comdians, it must be insanely nerve wracking to go on stage in front of 10000 people and be expected to make them all laugh for an hour and a half. My hats off to all of them that do.

To be honest, I was a bit dissapointed with Raw. Not that it wasn't good, but nothing comes close to Dilerious.

Running Vista is like being in a candy store that only sells black liquorice at exorbitant prices. Oh, and you\'re only allowed to eat the candy in the store.

Last nights HBO comedy special featured Chris Rock - what a hilarious show ! The show was recorded in 1999, but was still worth the watch.

He is pretty funny, but I still think Eddie Murphy set the standard with Dilerious.
