geforce 4 mx.......junk?

Some people told me that the geforce 4 mx aint worth buying (R1500) I wanna know if this is true and if it is, where can i get a graphics card 4 the same price thats a bit better?

It depends what the other guys have on their pc, if i am happy with my geforce 2 GTS, why would i see things in another light.
 If you have a 8mb display card then you will see the goodness that that card will offer you.
 The drawback is that you should also have a up to date pc, in order to appreciate the goodnes of the card, your pc is only as fast as your slowest component, and the other way around.
 Imagine having that card in a P2, its an insult to that card.
 Or the other the guys are jealous, and dont want you to kick their asses in combat arena.

the mx is a lot slower than the ti spend +- 800 more and get +- 50% more speed
 
 plus erasure is right a 500-700 mhz proc would be a wast on that card
 if stipped for cash go for the mx my gf2 mx400 32mb is fast but i have seen what a 5000ti does in my system so there deside for your self or go to <a href="http://www.tomshardware.com" target="_blank">www.tomshardware.com</a>
 and look for your self

After I also read remarks from John Carmack (main programmer/developer for DOOM, Quake) about the GeForce 4 MX range of cards, I was truly convinced not to buy it.

 Instead a Geforce 3 Ti 500 can support almost all DX 8.X features, while a Geforce 4 MX is lacking full support. <IMG SRC="images/forum/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif"> [ Edited by Wolverine On Date September 07, 2002 ]
