Unplayable choppy? Star what is your ADSL line speed? You might be experiencing lag... :(

it's not FPS... it's lag.... the beta "EU" servers are actually in the states...

wasn't too bad last night... hovered between 400 and 600... difficulty feels like it's been tweaked again... :)

Maybe someone who payed attention to damage delta's can answer this question...

Do all the monsters take the same amount of damage irrespective of the character type dealing it? Something OTC said got me thinking about CO-OP and the way to play it. He noticed that the ranged characters were killing the monsters before the up close characters could get in and deal damage. If that is the case then why bother playing as the Monk or the Barbarian/Warrior? Maybe Blizzard should have certain monsters more resistant to range damage than others? Am I making sense in this?

4mbps, though it goes through periods in which I am lucky to get more than 5kbps. This started about two weeks or so ago, seemed to have cleared up by Friday night, but was back with a vengeance by Saturday evening. Sometimes this will continue for weeks or months before my line speed settles down to its usual brisk 400kbps+


But why would that be a factor for a single player game? Should it not all be running off my hard drive?

:lol: Welcome to the World of Diablo MSORPG ;). Blizzard (more than likely Activision) have decided that even for a single player game you need a constant connection. This connection is required for your characters to be stored on their servers and for the dungeon maps to be randomly generated for. Oh and it gives you access to their store where you can buy in game items with real money... :roll:

Blizzard will not be able to sort out the lag issue anytime soon short of throwing hardware into SA and they have made it clear in the past that we are not big enough to get Blizzard hardware so expect some lag in your single player game... ;)

Thats why I am more excited for Torchlight 2. To a lesser extent is that Blizzard is taking Azeroth into worrying direction. But GW2 will sort that one out.

once they have proper EU hardware up and running in the EU you should not really have an issue any more.

No idea. I think you are to late to the pre-order party on that one. BTW BTGames is charging R699 for the Diablo 3 Collectors...
