We'll that's not good news for any next Steam update then. Valve banned another 30 000 accounts 2 days ago. That's 50 000 + in total thusfar!

Last night, Erik Johnson of Valve, made a post on the Steam forums about another round of Steam bans.
Today Valve disabled more than 30,000 Steam accounts which had been used to try to illegally gain access to Valve games without a valid purchase.

Valve takes such activities seriously and reserves the right to disable Steam accounts engaging in piracy, cheating, illegal activities, or any other activity in violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement. The accounts that are disabled today will not be reactivated.
In a time where major warez sites are shutting down and the authorities are cracking down on piracy, this is hardly coming as a surprise, but let this be a lesson to you. You will get caught, just like the other 50,000 people have been.

Yea dude, much as like an offline version of CS i won't take the risk..... 50 000, DAMN!
Hopefully Steam will release something soon for CS AND DM..... i wait.....

i have just been to a lan and they had ilegal versions of hl2 and cs and had bots so i own a legal version(before anyone asks and maybe the method which i suggest now is illegal it is a way to do it

copy your hl2 folder to another folder and
take steam off
get cracks IE no steam
use the folder of the copy to apply the cracks
and add bots and volia bot works ]
reinstall steam

ps i do not suppport piracy and can ot be held responsible for any loss to anyone

this worked for me try it at own risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry, you won't get banned if you use these files of offline play, because the installer I wrote will make a copy of your css and add bots to that copy. Now you will have two css, one for online play without bots and one for offline play with bots.

But if you were to get banned for some reason, I don't want to be responsable.

The people weren't banned for using bots, they got banned for not buying the game and trying to play online.

bot_difficulty 1 = normal
bot_difficulty 2 = hard

This may sound weird but I've had Far Cry for about 4/5 months now but haven't played it yet so i reckon i might play that either after BFME or after. Most people rate it very highly so i really wanna get round to playing it, really don't know why i haven't played it yet

So it'll be a little while before properly replaying HL2, it's as though i've got more games than i can play right now, normally it's the other way round!

Me too, I tried it once but with a 56k line it's painful even trying.... I join a game and then I'm dead, the delay is so long that i don't even see them coming! Really ****. I'd dig playing against some bots though, esp DM, it must be so cool using the grav gun against other guys! So if i can't play online against other players then against other bots will be the next best thing.
But at the same time i'm worried that i'll use the bots patch/dl and then get banned and then VALVe will release an 'official' fix for it......
