ack... your getting close :)

im going down to third on the entry of the corner on the start/finish straight (as far as i recall)

the first hairpin, you dont have try to go all out fast through it really (if you can it'l help obviously), its more the second one that'l have a bigger impact though

and yknow the saying "sometimes you have to go slower to go faster"

i return beaten

1'09.320 is as close as i got, so close yet not good enough.

/me hands Hawk the trophy

ok pick a track :)

btw what do you guys thinkof the addition to GT4 that if you smack a wall it gives it slows you down to 50km/h or so for 10 sec b4 releasing you again?

I have to admitt that i only won that Zonda Cup on the Rome circuit by smacking a couple of walls to get round faster. That race was soooo hard, cos you have to buy the Zonda and tune it up to the max and then when you line up at the start u realise that all your opponents are in the Race car Zondas and not the tuned up street version you've got.
I thought that was really unfair, cos buying the race version isn't an option, you can only win it after defeating them that championship.

and have you looked at the one section of the game called B-Spec?
You step out the car and watch the race from outside. You tell the driver how agressive to be and when to pit and when to go for a pass.
Sounds quite a novel idea, the press have said its actually very fun.

i dont remember us having a trophy but im not complaining :)

Track: Deep Forest Raceway
Car: Class A -> Skyline Gt-R V-Spec II (the older one)
Freerun
Time: ill do one tomorrow

that slowing down for smacking a wall was inevitable i guess, too many people took advantage of wall riding, i agree about that zonda race though, its incredibly unfair, i still have not finished that race, i should eventually but im lazy.

B-Spec looks very interesting, it should be a nice break away from you racing, though i guess it will all depend on the AI, which as it seems is going to be alot better than GT3.
If im managing a driver id at least hope the AI make it interesting to watch

Deep Forest
Skyline Gt-R Vspec II (manual - racing)
Time: 1'27.374 (10 laps)

i reckon there's a sub 1'27 possible.

Hawk, as you go through the choices b4 you race, the one choice between Racing and Drift. Why would anyone chose drift, the car slides so much more and scrubs off so much speed? Replays look cooler i guess :)

this thread has had over 500 views and yet only two of us (3 if you include Dammond after he finished his exams) are doing this.
Come on people ! surely there's more GT fans/players out there?

Sorry, i havnt been near my gt3 since yesterday, but ill get a time in soon

lately ive been playing around a bit with drift settings, (not arcade, rather the full settings from gtplanet)
a big plus is the higher entry speed you can have when going into a corner, im starting to like sliding the car around the track (while in complete control...promise :P ) overall though i think 'racing' (grip) is better for, well racing.

you should head over to the forums on www.gtplanet.net for GT3 under drifting and get some settings, etc for your car of choice and give it a go, its interesting.

i noticed the high view number for so few people participating, but hey its a forum thread, if theres a new post people inevitably want to see it

though im sure there are a few more gt players out there somewhere, if so come have a go.

The graphics on Gran Turismo 4 are absolutely stunning. Even better than NFSU2 or Toca Race driver 2 in my opinion. I've just seen some extra screenshots and I'm amazed at the realism.

Now my question is this, how does an itty bitty processor in a PS2 make a game look that good. I mean the graphics card itself can't be that good either considering the console must be what, 3 maybe more years old.

Is it because it does't have to process as much because its playing on a low resolution TV?

style, thats exactly right, the resolution on a standard PAL TV is 720x576

That PSP looks awsome too. Gran Turismo 4 i reckon is gonna look great on it. I even tried bidding for one on ebay, but the prices started sky rocketing to about 560 dollars so i thought not. Its only being launched next year in the states, so I'm sure we'll only see it round Christmas time. Might have to buy one from Japan when it gets launched next week.
