Play around between jpg with compression and gif to which which gives you the best size/quality ratio.

when you save for web, there is a little arrow head on the side that gives you the option to optimize for file size

My avvie is actually 120x140, so I could heighten it to 160, but it's a cut straight from the edge of my sig, so I'll rather just leave it.
