Help me out on this, when I click on refresh list to join a server, where do I see MY own ping, so that I may select the appropriate server to connect to? Because I always seem to get the message: "This server is for low ping players only"

It shows your ping in the last column. The column under the heading "Ping."

If you're getting more than 150, you can forget it. There are some seriously anal COD4 players who will vote to kick you.

best bet would be to add the SGS and IS servers to your fav list, cause many of the SGS servers do not get picked up by the in game server browser...

this way you can just select to view your fav's and just refresh them... they should all be well within your ping range as well cause they all local... unless ofc you yourself got a bad connection which you know has bad ping...

What tasks? Where do you go to get those tasks? Are you talking about that area on the trainee level with the obstacle course? I'm talking about the outside one, not the on that you do normally.

In COD4 multiplyer, when you go to Ranks and Challenges. There we go, challenges. There is one called Vandalism, where you have to blow up like 15 cars and so one.

Nope, havent played online, so i havent done it. But if that is something that you do on your own... I'll try it, i like blowing up cars.

In the single player, when cars are parked next to each other, i always blow up the one, and watch the chain effect

That is pretty schweet! But even if you play LAN you can complete thoses tasks. And when you climb rack while playing lan, I am pretty sure you keep that rank and classes that you might have created when youj join a online server.

Yes, playing online and on a lan is pretty much the same thing and whatever you unlock while playing either one, you keep and use in the other (hope that makes sense lol).

WOW this game is great! I was sitting on the edge of my seat while playing! Were getting uncapped soon so I can't wait to play it online.

Can anyone finish the Epilogue on Veteran? You only have 40 seconds! Its rediculace! I tried on Hardened, with 1min 40 seconds I think, and I finished with 2 seconds to spare. No idea how you can shave off 1 minute. Crazy.

Oh and the guy who said COD has better graphics than Crysis, um, you probably played neither.

I agree O-T-C. Crysis is much more resource hungry than COD and i play both on my 3000+ AMD with 1gig RAM and my 6600GT  And no, i lag VERY little on Crysis, and have no lag on COD.

I tried Crysis on my 3000+ with 512mb ram and 6600 and lagged hard on low. COD4 wasn''t bad.

I have a 6100 onboard graphics and tried to run COD4 on that. I could play the ship mission, but when they put president Al-Fulani in the car and started driving, eish, my pc bogged down. BTW, that is when my 8600GT was getting swopped out. hhaha!

of course you can! Cannot remember exactly where it is, but it's there! hahaha! Either in your "My documents" or in the program files\activision folder. I did that a couple of times when I needed to format my pc.

Yes you can. I did it also. Just go to the folder where you installed the game. I'm not exactly sure of the path, will check it this afternoon when i get home.
But there will be a folder with the name that you used for your profile. Just copy that entire folder to a safe place, and uninstall/format.

I didnt even remove the folder, i just uninstalled and took the option to keep my save games, later i installed it again to the same folder, and now i'm playing where i stopped last before the uninstall.

You will get a message saying, "the folder already exists, files might be overridden"... something like that, just say yes, thats all.

384K line is fine on SGS. Just change your rates from the default 25000 down to 8000 (or 15000) and you will be fine. When I get lag, my friends with 4MB lines are also getting lag, so I have to come to the conclusion that its not my line. in fact all games I play are fine with a 384k line.
