Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!
I think the GTX 460 is still the price / performance sweet-spot.

I doubt it. The 6870 is priced as a 460 but performs like a 470.

and I though that the HD5850 would take the crown from the HD4850. I was wrong.

Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!
The 8800gt brought more smiles than the 4850 did. I never saw much of a difference between the cards. Only that one was nvidia and the other was ati.

The HD4850 was priced just right.

The biggest thing the 6870 has going for it is how well it scales in CrossFire.StarBound wrote:I doubt it. The 6870 is priced as a 460 but performs like a 470.

Your asking us to wait for 2 months ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
Remember I had crossfire for 3 days and I thought the extra noise, heat and power usage wasnt worth it. Their is a maximum point where the rest of your hardware is a bottleneck or stop block. Eg SA internet has telkom stopping it from being great.

No clue... did you check Tom's Hardware and Guru 3D?
Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!
Reviews suggest the 5770, if I am not mistaken.THE_STIG wrote:The ati hd 5770 vs gts 450. which one is better??

Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!
But if SLi is on the cards, then I think the 450 would probably be a better choice.
Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!
The review is from BitTech. How much can you get it for? Because the GTX460 768MB is almost in that same price range and outperforms both cards by 30%.THE_STIG wrote:Thought soKALSTER wrote:Reviews suggest the 5770, if I am not mistaken.THE_STIG wrote:The ati hd 5770 vs gts 450. which one is better??

I am not sure about the pricing, they go from R1300-R2000 depending on the store.

Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!
I would love to get a pair of GTX 460s, but if I do manage to sell my 5970, I'll get a pair of GTX 560s... amped to see how they'll perform.
Re: ATI... erm, AMD vs nVidia!
If I ever get a pair of anything, it'll be 6970s.

The benchies look pretty decent though... too lazy to go through it properly now.
