re: "Thank you"

Post by Greegor »

Thank you for the replies,
I will try the smaller component(AV) cable that my friend wants to give to me.

If it still doesn't solve the problem, I will fork out a few bucks on a VGA cable as suggested. :)

"Smaller component cable"

Post by Greegor »

I got the smaller component cable from my friend.
It fits perfectly next to my HDMI cable.
Here is a pic :

Yes it worked, there is now sound playing through the RCA/AV cable to my HIFI, but it's very soft even with the HIFI on max volume.
Already had a look on the dashboard, can't set the volume anywhere.

I think I might need that VGA cable now. :(

65nm Jasper XBOX360s spotted in the wild.

If you get a console labeled 12.1A on the 12V rail and comes with a 150W PSU, you can be assured that you have a Jasper-based console.

Rumour has it that the price of Xbox 360 consoles and Xbox 360 games will skyrocket in 2009, something like R1000 per game! And add R1000+ to the current pricing of the console.

I don't know if I believe it though, it seems a little exorbitant.

Hi. I have no idea. I bought Red Alert 3 and when I tried to play it I got a message saying the console has to be updated so I I pressed ok and when I tried to pressed the eject button the disc drive decided not to open. It took me 5 minutes of trying just to get the game out. I was patient. I never opened it or did anything to the console.

Now I have to wait for the authorization number to get a new one that hopefully will stay working.

No
No?

Well, I'm off to go play GH3 with mine right now.

You do however need the Xbox Accesories (or something along those lines) software. I bought a wireless connection point for the X360 controllers to work with my pc and got the software with. Think it cost around R300?

Re: The XBOX 360 Thread

ok i dont feel like starting a thread to post my review of Gears 2 so i will put it here.

Well for me I played GoW 1 on the PC cause i didnt have a 360 at the time and now comming to the 360 i can say to you that its way better. With a keyboard and a mouse the game is simply too easy but with a controller it gives the sense of 'OMG im in a fire fight" and adds to the tension dude to the lack of accuracy achieved with a controller. Not only that the achievements you unlock add that little something that adds to the experience.

The story picks up after GoW1 with a series of new missions (for those who dont remember you objective was to drop an e bomb [sounds like a virus -.-] into the locust nest and kill them all. Well guess what it didnt work so now its up to delta squad to finish the job, so back to the frontlines. The gameplay is identical to the first GoW, find cover support each other and out flank the enemy. Very few games have managed to pull this method of play successfully but from what i've played GoW is the best (army of two tried but its combat isnt as good). In addition to the original weapons at your disposal there is a new pistol, flamethrower, mortar gun and a poison gas grenade known as an ink grenade. Even thought there are new weapons the most used combo will be the Gears sniper rifle and the machine gun with the chainsaw (forgot what its called).

New features such as the ability for your enemies to go down and be revived (just like you) but now while they are crawling for life you have the option of beating them to death or using them as err locust shields  to absorb enemy fire. Other features include all new chainsaw duels which is well u guessed it a lock in chainsaws and rapidly bashing the poor B button on your controller to win.

Other than what i've said above there really isnt any thing new, which is great. Epic developed a master piece called Gears of War and now in the sequel they did not change the aspects that made the original a smash hit but rather just extend the storyline and improved on the smaller details.
I played this game using headphones which made the experience for me as the sound effects in the game are simply amazing. The voice acting in the game is brilliant and there will be times where you will feel sorry for delta's gears and times where you will be screaming at the screen "take biaaach take".

This is truely the best game i've played on my 360 so far, and although its relatively short (cause i only play the single player though there is a variety of mplayer modes and a co-op) the action is intense from the time you decide to train so you can orientate yourself with the controls to the time the end credits start rolling. If you enjoyed GoW 1 then this is a must buy. Well done Epic

verdict 9.5/10 :D

You can just buy the HDD seperate and clip it on to the xbox. The HDDs are about R1000 if I'm not mistaken. So you don't need to really get it installed.

But if you do have an arcade you can request from microsoft for an additional mem card because from whatI've read they are giving them away because of the size of the nxe. :)

Yep just buy a HDD and clip it on the side, no need to get it "fitted" :P
